Impact Northeast Regional Organizing Director

LOCATION: Boston, MA, New York, NY, or New Brunswick, NJ

Lead a team of organizers based in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. As an organizing director, you will oversee staff, plan campaigns with our partners, raise funds to support Impact, and participate in recruiting and hiring new organizers.

Development Department Planned Giving Coordinator

Deputy Grants Fundraising Director

Public Health Organizer, Maryland PIRG

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD

Maryland PIRG seeks a Public Health Organizer to lead our campaigns to protect public health by reducing toxic chemicals exposure and the misuse of antibiotics on large farms. The Organizer for the Healthy Kids, Healthy Maryland and Stop the Overuse of Antibiotics campaigns will advocate with legislators and the Governor’s office, meet with state regulators, plan media events and media outreach, run grassroots organizing, recruitment, fundraising, and coalition-building to push for solutions that protect public health.

Coordinate advocacy, field organizing and media communications for Environment Colorado, driving campaigns to restore Colorado's beautiful lakes and rivers, bring more clean energy to Colorado, curb global warming pollution and protect Colorado's open spaces.

Snowriders International Coordinator

Snowriders International is a non-profit organization of skiers, boarders, and mountain recreation enthusiasts founded in 2011. We are dedicated to the promotion of winter sports and protection of the environment across the globe through service, education, research, and advocacy. As Coordinator, you’ll work to organize the winter sports community and help make its voice heard. 


Consumer Program Director, U.S. PIRG

LOCATION: Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; or Washington, DC

The Consumer Program Director will be taking on an issue of extreme importance to American households. We’re working to convince our leaders to stop unfair banking practices and to empower consumers in the marketplace. Whether it’s by defending the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the first federal agency tasked solely with the job of protecting consumers from unfair financial practices, or by documenting the challenges consumers face in the emerging digital marketplace, U.S. PIRG is working to protect consumers. 


Arts & Entertainment Organizer

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

The Public Interest Network is looking for an Arts & Entertainment Organizer. The arts, music, and entertainment industry can be an incredible ally in creating social change, using the "celebrity megaphone" to help win campaigns and build the profile of our organization. The Arts & Entertainment Organizer will work with The Public Interest Network staff to identify opportunities to engage members of the arts, music, and entertainment community in such actions as campaign endorsements and sign-on letters; news conferences, lobby days and fundraisers; and video projects.


Online Team Manager

LOCATION: Boston, MA

The Public Interest Network is hiring an Online Team Manager to oversee digital content creators. As Online Team Manager, you will manage at least five staff and work with dozens of others to run smart, effective digital campaigns for U.S. PIRG, Environment America and other Public Interest Network groups. 


Training Center Director

LOCATION: Boston, MA; New York, NY; Washington, DC; Denver, CO; San Francisco, CA; or Los Angeles, CA

The Public Interest Network is hiring a Training Center Director. Building on 40 years of success in this arena, the Training Center houses and coordinates all of our training activities, including an upgrade and expansion that will enable us to do more than ever to populate the social change movement with new talent. 


Budget Monitor

LOCATION: Denver, CO or Chicago, IL

The Public Interest Network is hiring a Budget Monitor to work with dozens of social change organizations to trim costs, manage and maintain equipment and vendor relationships and assist in preparing and monitoring their budgets. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, have experience in project management, strong problem solving skills, and have one year of administrative experience working in a campaign environment.  


Training Center Associate Director

LOCATION: Denver, CO

The Training Center Associate Director will help us perfect our model, promote our training program throughout the larger public interest and progressive communities, and expand the program in the years to come. 


Development Department Prospect Researcher

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

The Prospect Researcher will identify and research prospective donors for a wide array of public interest campaigns and programs, supporting the fundraising work of the network’s advocates, organizers, executive directors, and development staff. 


Media Communications Director

LOCATION: Washington, DC; Denver, CO; or Boston, MA.

The Public Interest Network needs a Media Communications Director to develop messaging and to promote our brands, issue campaigns, and staff to the media. The Media Communications Director will collaborate with the staff of our partner groups, including U.S. PIRG, Environment America, Fair Share and other organizations, to craft a media strategy for each brand, and directly connect with reporters, bloggers, editors and others in the media world to increase our visibility, name recognition, reputation and reach. 


National Program Director

LOCATION: Washington, DC; Denver, CO; or Boston, MA.

The Director will coordinate nationwide issue campaigns across the Network. This person will work with partner groups, including U.S. PIRG, Fair Share and Environment America, to strategize tactics and opportunities to advance our campaigns around the country.


Environmental Action Executive Director

Boston, MA; New York, NY; Washington, DC; or Denver, CO

The Executive Director will be charged with developing and executing a 3-year strategic plan to grow the staff of Environmental Action, upgrade and expand Environmental Action’s programmatic work, develop new sources of grant and large donor funding, and grow Environmental Action’s digital audience and income streams.

The Public Interest Network is hiring a Lobbying Associate who will work in Congress and state and local government to make sure the public’s voice is heard. The Lobbying Associate will support our efforts to build relationships with state, national and local players and make the best case for our policies directly to decision makers.


Grants Fundraising Associate

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

The Grants Fundraising Associate will have a key role in our efforts to double our grant and large donor fundraising over the next five years. Web Associate

LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA.

The Public Interest Network’s Creative Team works to tell the story of our organizations online in a way that connects with people—visually, emotionally, intellectually—and motivates them to join the fight for a better world.

We are looking for a Web Associate to help us create websites, build splash pages, and conduct online experiments to increase the impact of our large network of websites. You’ll work with the staff of our organizations across the country to create powerful online content that raises money, increases visibility and attracts more supporters and volunteers.


Writing Associate

Do you believe the power of story, image and design can help change the world? So do we. Design Associate

Do you have design experience – with your newspaper at school, a group on campus or in your community, or a site on the Web? Do you care about issues such as climate change, fracking and money in politics? Do you believe in the power of story, image and design to help change the world?

The Creative Team for The Public Interest Network is hiring a Design Associate to tell the stories of the campaigns that organizations like Environment America and U.S. PIRG are working on in materials that go to the membership base of these organizations.


Digital Campaigners

LOCATION: Washington, DC; Denver, CO; or Boston, MA.

The Public Interest Network is hiring five digital campaigners ready to protect the environment and restore our democracy. You’ll work with organizations like Environment America and U.S. PIRG to craft and win campaigns to fight global warming, get big money out of politics, and protect our waterways from toxic pollution.


Administrative Associate, Grants Department

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA.

Work with the network’s advocates, organizers, attorneys, executive directors and development staff to raise funds for a wide array of public interest campaigns and programs. Current campaigns include working to restore Clean Water Act protections to nearly 2 million miles of our nation's waterways, convincing the EPA to save our bees by declaring a moratorium on the use of bee-killing neonics, stopping the flow of special interest money in politics, stopping the use of antibiotics on factory farms, promoting clean and renewable energy, increasing voter participation amongst underrepresented voters and many, many more.


Internships

In-House Counsel Intern

LOCATION: Washington, DC; Denver, CO; or Boston, MA.

The Public Interest Network’s in-house legal department provides legal services to Environment America, U.S. PIRG, and dozens of state and national affiliated organizations. The primary practice areas include First Amendment issues, non-profit corporate and tax compliance, campaign finance/election law, lobbying, charitable solicitation regulation, employment law, benefits, and contracts. We are seeking 1Ls and 2Ls for summer internships to conduct legal research, prepare in-house legal memoranda and draft and review contracts.


Campaign Legal Intern

LOCATION: Washington, DC; Denver, CO; or Boston, MA. Other locations for qualified candidates.

The Public Interest Network’s member groups work to take on the fossil fuel industry to promote clean energy, advocate for stopping the overuse of antibiotics in farm animals, protect our rivers, and help turn out thousands of young people to vote. Our legal interns draft proposed legislation, create new policy ideas, frame campaign strategies, conduct legal and factual research and write legal memos. We are seeking 1Ls and 2Ls for summer internships, as well as externs for the fall and spring semesters.
